WE'VE MOVED TO THE PHILIPPINES!...at least for one year. Dave's Utah based company, inContact, decided to open their services to the Philippines (P.I.)....and since Dave served his mission in the P.I. and still remembers the language and customs (after 12 years)...he was the perfect choice to get his company up and going. This is going to be the story of our Grand Adventure!

This last Sunday (2 days ago) didn't go quite as well as the previous one.  I met 2 new women and they were brutally honest...The first one has been here 2 1/2 years and couldn't say she liked living in the Philippines.... then in three weeks the second women will have been here 2 years and will be going home at that point (sorry kinda confusing, hope you can get it).  The second women is so excited to leave, in fact, AJ walked by as she was telling me this in the hallway and interjected how happy she knew she was to go...UGH!  Kinda doesn't help me with the idea that I will eventually love living in the Philippines...:O  Dave put it best the other night, he told me how proud he was of me and how I was "coping" with everything so well.... ha-ha...hahaha!!!  Dave is quite amazing though and is a great example of how to always look for the good!  He has shared with me some really awesome stories of his mission and how he was home sick at first, too!  It is nice to know that someone as strong as he is, can have a hard time too… He not only looks like Mr. Incredible (Disney Movie), he seems like him too!

I also received some disheartening information on adoption in the Philippines. It looks as though it will not be an option for us.  The government requires that you are a resident of the Philippines for 3 years before applying for adoption, and then you must live here for 1 year after placement.  Sadly, this prevents us from the opportunity.   I was truly looking forward to this chance to start our family.

This post was kind of a downer…I promise the next one will be much better!
